Whether they fancy the combative karate, with its emphasis on striking poses, the physicality of judo, with its throws and holds, or the Korean art of self-defence, tae kwon do. Our classes are held at St Mark’s Church in Buderim, on Mondays and Wednesdays and our instructors welcome students, typically from ages 8 and up. This can be as little as one hour a week or as much as a couple of hours per day, depending on your goals. Karate means “empty hand” and has its origins in Okinawa and was influenced by various other systems of martial arts, prevalent in the Ryukyu Kingdom, at the time.
